Hello. How may we help you?

Creating 3D Materials

Introduction

Welcome to the Frontier.cool onboarding series. This article is dedicated to guiding you through the process of generating 3D materials on your TextileCloud™ platform, using a newly uploaded fabric as an example.

Step-by-Step Guide to 3D Material Creation

  1. Preparing for 3D Material Creation
✅Ensure the asset has a scanned image, the 3D creation quota is available and all required fields are filled.

  2. Go to Asset Library, select and Asset. Then click on [Edit].

  3. In the Created In Frontier panel of the 3D Material Section, click the [Create] button to start the 3D Material Generation.
    89-1
  4. The Preview window will then appear, prompting the following questions:
❓💬Is the material see-through?  If your fabric has no mesh/holes, simply leave it unchanged and click the [Crop] button.
However, if your fabric does have mesh, follow our Best Practices Guide for Creating 3D Fabric Materials with Mesh
    90-1
  5. Refining the 3D Material
🌟 Our system will auto-detect fabric patterns and combine cropping functions for flexibility and seamless repeats, as demonstrated in the left box, while the right box allows previewing of the repeated pattern.
    ● Advanced Cropping Tools: Use the crop or perspective crop tool for precise adjustments to the repeat points, ensuring the pattern aligns correctly with minimal adjustment needed.

  6. NEW
Pattern Finder: this feature is designed to detect fabric patterns with precision, ensuring flawless repeats. While our system automatically identifies the pattern for you, you may want to explore further or refine the result. Follow these steps to achieve the perfect pattern repeat using the Pattern Finder feature:
    1. Enlarge the Crop Area. Select a flat area of the fabric and increase the crop size.
    2. Click on [Pattern Finder]. This will accurately identify fabric patterns.

    3. Pattern Finder feature will detects fabric patterns with precision for flawless repeats. The preview is displayed on the right preview box.

  7. NEW
Solid Quiling Tool: this feature helps you create seamless solid fabric tiles with exceptional accuracy, removing visible edges between them. Follow these simple steps to achieve perfect tiling:

    1. Toggle on the [Solid Quilting Tool]. Activate the tool to enable seamless tiling functionality.

    2. Effortless Seamless Tiling. Once toggled, the tool will automatically create seamless fabric tiles, ensuring no visible edges between tiles.

  8. NEW
    Color Balancer
: Use the color balancer to normalize uneven colors for single-color textures to achieve a smooth and consistent color tone.
  9. Finalization and Processing: After making necessary adjustments, click the [Create] button to regenerate the 3D materials, monitoring the process until completion.

  10. Saving the 3D Materials
    ● Downloading the 3D Material Files: Save the final asset and download the 3D material in your preferred format (U3M, U3MA for Browzwear, or GLTF for CLO-3D), ensuring it's ready for use in your 3D modeling software. Learn more about how to download 3 files in this article.

Conclusion
