Understanding Role Function

Introduction

The Role Function feature in TextileCloud™ enables organizations to manage user permissions efficiently. By assigning specific roles, organizations can control access levels to different features within the platform, ensuring a structured and secure workflow.

Available Roles

TextileCloud™ currently supports three user roles: Org Owner, Member, and Guest. Each role comes with different levels of access and responsibilities:

1. Org Owner

The Org Owner is the creator of the organization and has full administrative rights. This role includes:

  • Full access to all platform features including Asset Library and Workspace in all groups.
  • Ability to upload, edit, manage, and share digital fabrics and collections.
  • Managing billing and subscription details.
  • Full access to the Dashboard.
  • Changing user roles.

2. Member

The Member role allows users to work collaboratively within the organization. This role includes:

  • Full access to the Asset Library and Workspace (only in the group where the member is located)
  • Ability to upload, edit, manage, and share digital fabrics and collections.

3. Guest

The Guest role is designed for users who need limited access. This role includes:

  • Access view to the Asset Library.
  • View and share access in the Workspace.
  • No editing or administrative permissions for digital fabrics and collections.

How to Change a User's Role

Only the Org Owner can change user roles. Follow these steps to update a user's role:

  1. Go to Management
  2. Click on Members.
  3. Click on the Dropdown Role next to the user’s name and select the desired role.
